Welcome to the Atlantic Vintage Motorcycle Society
When you join AVMS, your first year of membership will be considered a probationary year. When you complete the requirements of your probationary year, you will earn the full benefits of membership.
Responsibilities
Ride Safe. The AVMS has a perfect safety record and a high standing in the community. All current members, and you as a probationary member, have a responsibility to ride in a safe manner, obey all safety rules and traffic laws and conduct yourself in a courteous manner when interacting with other members and the general public. Failure to do so may result in your membership being revoked.
Show Up. As a probationary member, you are required to attend a minimum of two rides and two meetings over the course of the year. Notice of the rides will be sent by email, and announced at the meetings. Regular monthly business meetings on the first Sunday of every month. The usual location for the meeting is Jim’s Restaurant on the Bedford Highway. Members meet at 8:00am for
breakfast with the meeting beginning at 9:30am. Members who wish to attend the meeting only should be there for 9:30am. A notification of the meeting will go out via email prior to each
event.
Ride Vintage. On a scheduled club run, the rule is to ride a vintage bike if you have one that is roadworthy. If not, ride what you have, keeping in mind that we ride older motorcycles on secondary roads where our speed limit is generally 90 kms per hour. Most club runs are on Saturdays to give us the option of Sunday as a rain date.
